Who I am

About.

An absolute genius – what more to say? To be honest, just an ordinary developer. No amazing accomplishments as a result of working for major tech giants like Facebook, Amazon, Google etc. Just a jolly Dane that is extremely good at what he is doing. I believe what makes for a good developer is not necessarily several decades of FuzzBuzz mastering, but his ability to solve problems in the most agile and effective way possible.

I would consider myself a full-stack devigner (it’s true - it’s a word). Though I don’t specialise in anything in particular, I have an ability to use my understanding in the software engineering space, a keen sense of design and UI/UX, and a remarkable attention to detail to engineer and built problem solving solutions that deliver.

My core-experience are without a doubt in the JavaScript language, that being functional programming or OOP, and though my journey started with PHP and jQuery, I believe that JavaScript has matured and improved over the last decade, proving to be the best all-around language for anything, whether it being websites, API servers, microservice infrastructures, robotics or native apps for mobile and desktop.

I started out in brand strategy and identity design, but slowly transitioned in to coding and development, as I realised early on, that I couldn’t rely on third parties to provide me the level of quality I insisted on delivering for my clients. So, as they say, “if you want it done right, do it yourself”. WordPress and PHP were my first steps in the development world, and i got so curious as to how it worked that I even experimented in building my own full-stack framework called Well (unfortunately now lost in a BitBucket account tied to a long forgotten high-school e-mail address), which featured navigation history, routing, server side rendering, AJAX communication with a backend service, and more. It was dependant on PHP as back-end, a preferred MVC file structure, and jQuery on the front-end, but it worked, and a few sites such as CBDORA, My Life My Book, Raw Attitude, even a bespoke campaign management tool built for Fiat Industrial, and more were built using this framework.

A few years later I learned about React and transitioned almost instantly away from my own setup. But I know that pushing myself in to building such framework (despite how limited featurewise and code heavy it was) – it gave me so much understanding and experience, which has proved useful later on in learning new languages, understanding core development fundamentals, learning computer science, and expanding my own palette of languages and frameworks as it stands today.

Today's Gakker

What happened to the Daily Gakker?

Now it has been a month. What is my excuse? Honestly - I don't really have one.

It has been a crazy month, with my brothers comunion, family from Denmark, approaching deadlines, my own birthday suddenly coming up, and overall just a lot of stuff - and oddly enough, I really haven't had much to talk about.. At least I haven't had before!

Today - after a long time of continous development and work setting up a complete Kubernetes + Gitlab + GlusterFS + Microservice environment, I definitely have loads to talk about, but I have needed this month to catch up on some stuff, and not that the Daily Gakker takes a lot of my time, I just haven't had much to share the past time. That is going to chance for sure.

So stay tuned - I will be in touch shortly.
