Who I am

About.

You know what? I really dislike this... Having to write about myself and tell people who I am. Cause despite what I write here, you won't really truly know me or what I do until the day we meet. I might as well just include the bio-snippet from my late Tinder profile. "Corfitz. From šŸ‡©šŸ‡° lives in šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§.. Can order pizza in 3 different languages šŸ• and hold my breath for 38 seconds. Slightly introvert, loves to learn, drinks coffee, and accepts bribe in the shape of Korean barbecue."

Jokes aside, I am a consultant. I love design. But not just design as in how things look and feel. Nor how they work or what techniques have been used to make it. I love the design of the mind in particular and its ability to come up with these thoughts and ideas that push innovation and new technologies forward. I enjoy working with ambitious and creative people who engage and spend their time in creating and realising these new ideas.

For more than a decade now, I have spent countless hours on research and self-teaching in order to improve my skills and abilities in terms of design, programming, business, writing, etc. I thrive in the learning process and I actually consider myself as some sort of professional noob. What I mean by that is that I find myself constantly trying to learn something new and every time I feel that I have reached a good level of understanding, I begin teaching myself something else.

For many years I have considered this a curse, as it often has lead me to question myself in what I do and who I am. I started my business as a freelance designer, providing graphic design services to local businesses and helping them with print collateral. Later I started learning about web design, and as I improved in basic HTML/CSS, I found myself eager to explore back-end and front-end development at a higher level. I started teaching myself PHP and JavaScript, and how to use certain frameworks and libraries. Started teaching myself Objective-C and Swift in order to build mobile applications which lead me to learn about APIs and data communication, and later on Node.js, React, Docker and... Yeah.. I am sure you get it by now.

The thing is, as a professional noob I love to learn - and I love to use what I learn to help other businesses. From the past many years of studying, I have achieved Jedi-status in Alice's Wonderland, and that has made me realise who I actually am and what I am meant to do. It is my job to learn and explore all these new worlds of technology and design, cause then you don't have to. You are the person with a vision and a great idea. You are the person with the big picture and the ambition to make it happen. I am the person that helps you make it a reality.

And don't be afraid to challenge me in something I haven't done before, I am sure I can learn it šŸ˜‰.

Today's Gakker

What happened to the Daily Gakker?

Now it has been a month. What is my excuse? Honestly - I don't really have one.

It has been a crazy month, with my brothers comunion, family from Denmark, approaching deadlines, my own birthday suddenly coming up, and overall just a lot of stuff - and oddly enough, I really haven't had much to talk about.. At least I haven't had before!

Today - after a long time of continous development and work setting up a complete Kubernetes + Gitlab + GlusterFS + Microservice environment, I definitely have loads to talk about, but I have needed this month to catch up on some stuff, and not that the Daily Gakker takes a lot of my time, I just haven't had much to share the past time. That is going to chance for sure.

So stay tuned - I will be in touch shortly.
