Success changes people

“No matter what happens – I will always be me!” is a sentence you have probably heard or maybe even said to someone, and even though it may be true and you stick to this promise, the people around you don’t think so. “You have changed” “You are so different” etc.

Bottom line is, that people see what they want to see.

• Hanging out with the guys and you offered to pay for the beer back then was a kind gesture – now it is show-off.
• Receiving an important phone call back then was okay and they supported you – now you are not prioritising them and your work is more important to you.
• Finally got the lease for a new car, everybody wanted to go with you – getting a new car today, they won’t sit in it with you.

Some people envy your success. It is important to stick with the people who don’t see you different just because you have worked hard to earn it – and then get rid of the people that do. And usually the only reason they don’t like you is because it reminds them about their own failures and laziness. Having the same opportunities in life as you, but not managing to achieve as much as you.

But in some cases, they are still right – You have changed. You have achieved a level of confidence due to your hard work paying off. You live a different life now being able to pay your bills and do more of the things you dreamed to do. You gain more experience in life and all of that is clear signs of how you develop and change. Just do the best you can in order to change for the better.
